The 23rd annual running of the Lou Cox Memorial 5K will take place on Monday, May 31, 2010 at 9:00 AM at Welcome Stadium in Dayton, OH. This race is one of the fastest 5K's in the Midwest!

WHEN: Memorial Day Weekend, Monday May 31, 2010 - 9:00AM
LOCATION: Welcome Stadium, 1601 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd, Dayton, Ohio. I-75 to Exit 51, Edwin C Moses Blvd east to Welcome Stadium/UD Arena on your left. Parking is available at Gates C & D. Gates will be closed 15 minutes prior to the start of the race.
COURSE: The Lou Cox Memorial 5K is one of the fastest 5K's in the Midwest! Starting on Edwin C. Moses Blvd in Dayton, OH, the race heads north to Stewart St. Here, runners will cross over the Little Miami River and then turn south on Patterson Blvd. Runners will run to the turnaround spot and then return to Stewart St. via the paralleling bike path. After crossing back over the river, the runners will run back to Welcome Stadium before running 350 meters on the track to the finish line.
The Lou Cox Memorial 5K has a slight elevation loss, as the finish line on the track sits lower than the start line on Edwin C. Moses Blvd. There is no noticeable elevation change until a downhill into the parking lot at 2.5 miles.
REGISTRATION: Enter by May 1 and save! Download the entry form and register by mail (please, no mailed entries after May 25) or register on-line through May 28. Race day registration begins at 7:00AM at Welcome Stadium. All entries received by May 10 are guaranteed to receive an official new-for-2010 short-sleeved technical t-shirt. There will be no refunds given and transfers are not allowed for any reason.
CONFIRMATION: You can confirm your registration, whether you registered by mail or online, by visiting the online registration page. Just enter your name into the 'Confirm An Entry' box on the left and click the 'search' button. Please Note: Mailed entries are not processed immediately. Please allow 2 weeks for all mailed entries to appear in the database!

GOODIES: All race participants will receive:
- A custom race technical shirt in men's and women's sizing
- Professional chip timing by The End Result
- Aid stations with water and Gatorade
- Post race beverages and food including bagels, fruit, cookies, muffins, and Gatorade
- Event photography
AWARDS: $2,000 Prize Purse!! The top three overall male and female and the top male and female master will split a $2,000 prize purse as follows:

3rd - $100
Master (over 40)
1st - $100
The first master can win overall prize money as well.
Top five male and female in each of the following age groups will also win awards:
9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over.
PACKET PICKUP: Avoid the race day rush and pick up your packet on Sunday, May 30 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Endurance Sports, 6056 Wilmington Pike. Race day pickup is available at Welcome Stadium beginning at 7:00AM.
KID’S FUN RUN: A kid’s fun run will be held after the race inside Welcome Stadium. Children 9 & under are welcome to participate and will each receive an award of accomplishment.
RACE RESULTS: Results will be available at the race and online at onlineraceresults.com.
SCORING: All participants will be issued a timing chip. You are responsible for wearing your chip on your shoe. NO CHIP = NO RESULTS = NO AWARD. YOU MUST RETURN YOUR CHIP AFTER THE RACE. If you don’t run/walk or don’t finish, you must return the chip in person at the race or by mail in the envelope provided. If you fail to return the chip, a $35 charge will be assessed to you.
RULES: Obey all instructions from race and public safety officials. Headphones are strongly discouraged. Please be sure to wear your timing chip on your shoe during the race and to return it at the finish.
LODGING: Courtyard Marriott ® at the University of Dayton (2006 Edwin C. Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH 45408, 937-220-9060) is the official host lodging for the event.
