ORRRC 50k Series Race

Registration is now open for the 2010 edition of the Another Dam 50K Run. Registrations are limited to the first 120 entrants. There will be no race day registration.

WHEN: Saturday, June 5, 2010.  The race starts at 8:00AM.

LOCATION: The race location is the Englewood MetroPark in Englewood, Ohio. The park is located on State Route 48 in Englewood. From I-70 take the Route 48 exit and travel north.  Go past Route 40 East and continue north on Route 48.  (At this point, Route 48 and Route 40 are combined.)  At the traffic light where Route 40 West turns left, you will turn right to enter Englewood MetroPark. Continue down the entrance road to a large parking lot.

PARKING: Englewood MetroPark West Park entrance.  Park anywhere you like in the lot.  NO PARKING ON THE GRASS.  The park gates will not be opened until 7:00a.m.  If you show up earlier than that, you won’t be able to get into the park anyway.

COURSE: The course is all contained inside Englewood MetroPark. The course consists of a 7.9+ mile circuit that will be completed 4 times for a total of 31.7 miles. The course is 73% dirt trail, 13% gravel/dirt road, and 14% paved bike trail and park roads. Traffic on the park roads will be maintained, so it is up to the runners to watch for cars. There is a marked bike/running path on the roads that should be used by the runners. There are only 3 hills on the course of any significance. AID: There is an aid station at the start/finish shelter with fluids only and a fully stocked aid station at the shelter that is at the focal point of the figure 8 loop. Aid is never more than 2.6 miles away.  The main aid station will provide water, sports drink, pretzels, fruit, cookies, chips, PB&J, and other food items. Pizza will be provided at the end of the race starting at about 12:30p.m. at the start/finish shelter. If you want to leave a bag/cooler/etc at the main aid station, you are welcome to do so. We will not be taking drop bags to that location, but you may take them there yourself. It is about a 15 minute round trip drive from the start/finish to the central aid station and back. Spectators are welcome to drive back and forth between the aid stations. We just ask that you respect the 20MPH speed limit on the park roads.

SCORING and AWARDS: There will be CoolMAX short sleeve shirts for all finishers.  Times will be recorded and posted at www.orrrc.org.  The winners will receive our respect and adoration.

TIME LIMIT: The race starts at 8:00AM and finishes at 5:00PM, allowing 9 hours to complete the 50K. The final circuit of the course must be started before 3:00PM, or you will not be allowed to continue.

REGISTRATION: Register online or download the mail-in entry form below.  There will be no race day registration. The field is limited to the first 120 entries.

FEES:

• $20 – No Shirt
• $25 – Includes cotton short sleeve tee shirt (Entries received after May 21, 2010 can not be guaranteed a t-shirt)

LOCAL ACCOMMODATIONS: There are a number of motels at the Route 48 exit from I-70. This intersection is only about 3 miles from the race start.
