25th Annual Ghost N Goblin 5k Starting Line Countdown

January 10, 2010 - Splash N Dash/Just Dash

Update from race director: The Splash-n-Dash and Just Dash races on 10 January will be held as planned. Much of the run loop is in decent running condition, with only a light snow covering previously cleared paths. Some sections, however, have not had any snow removal performed, and will be slow-going. Hopefully, some of the worst areas will get some work done on them today. In any case, a runnable course will be available. Its going to be cold, so dress accordingly!  :-O

The Splash N Dash is a unique multisport race.  Start with a 1000 yard indoor pool swim and then transition immediately into an outdoor 5k run. Or do the Just Dash - a time-trial format 5k run on the same course as the Splash N Dash.

WHEN: Sunday, Jan 10, 2010. The race will start no later than 9:00AM, and will be completed by 11:30AM.

LOCATION: Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420.

REGISTRATION: Race Day Registration Only.  Registration will start no later than 8:00AM.

FEES:

Splash-n-Dash $8 per participant per race
USAT membership (req'd for SnD) 
$39 for yearly; $10 for single event
Just Dash 5k Normal ORRRC small race fees

SnD: USAT members must have their USAT cards and identification, or else pay the single event fee.  Membership in USAT is REQUIRED for participation.  You can sign up with USAT for a yearly fee, or purchase a single-day event membership.

AWARDS, T-SHIRTS, RESULTS, FRILLS: This is a no-frills race series. No T-shirts. No pre-registration. Awards are series-based, and will be mailed after the last event. Results for each event will be posted at www.orrrc.org within a day of the event.  To be eligible for series awards, you must participate in at least 2 of the 3 events. Awards will be provided to the top five in each age group.

VOLUNTEERS: We can always use more lap counters and course marshals. And you can do the event and volunteer too!  If you would like to help, please contact the race director(s) (above), and we'll be sure to find a job for you!
